If music be the food of love, play on

Late this afternoon as I cleaned my home I put my iTunes playlist on loud and Diamonds and Pearls came on and whilst I am not the greatest Prince fan the song did give me a pause as I remembered his untimely death and it made me remember Michael Jackson's death and FYI HUGE MJ fan over here. So one thing led to the other and I stopped cleaning and fell down the YouTube rabbit hole watching music vids from MJ and Prince. And then the vid of John Mayer playing Human Nature at MJs memorial came on (I would pay good money for JM to release his version...hauntingly good!). Anyway that led to watching John Mayer vids all the way back to Your body is a Wonderland but then I stumbled upon JM and BB King...wow!

Just wow!

It's now 9pm and I am onto Eric Clapton after a brief stopover with Norah Jones. Speaking of Norah I remember when I had her Come Away with Me album on constant replay back in the early noughties but I had to forcibly stop listening to it because mehn the lyrics, the notes, the feelings invoked...my heart couldn't take it after a while.

Ironically I find that the music I really really like, the best for me is also the worst because the kind of songs I love are the ones that make you feel deeply, that turn you introspective. And sometimes I kinda don't want to know what's going on with URO.

But back to these amazingly talented individuals who create this....I don't even know what word(s) to use...heaven on earth and allow us to play in it. I am in absolute awe at the work of their hands and the belief and dedication it takes to produce these works. That they are human like me makes me more aware of my own lack of genius.

But that I am allowed to partake in their world, for that I am ever thankful. And on that note YouTube is now playing Eric Clapton's Change the World and I think that's a great place to end this post. Eric, Prince, MJ, JM, etc..... thanks for bringing sunlight to my universe...

Xx
